God gave me the Foundation

There are many reasons the Lord has been working with me
to get The Lighthouse Beacon of Hope Women Helping Women open.
The first word He gave me was FOUNDATION.
I knew of God, but I didn’t know Him. Up til this time in my life (47 years old) I had let others tell me who He was and what He had done for me. Now, I was being shown I needed to find out the truth for myself. I was invited to a bible study and my journey began.
Luke 8, The Parable of the Sower spoke to me.
The Lord showed me my foundation in Him was not solid. I was shown until I truly looked into what the Bible said and discern what the scriptures taught, I
would believe anything and stand for anything.
The 10 commandments are God's Laws. One of the first places the Lord showed me I had trouble with was the commandment “Love thy neighbor as thyself ”.
How could I love others when I had not been loving myself?
How could I love myself when I didn’t know what love really meant?
I was so caught up in trying to love others that I didn’t first go to Gods word, the Bible, to find out what God meant for me. What did God say about Love and how was I suppose
to do this for myself first and get the foundation I needed. Up to this point I realized I had been loving everyone else even if it meant I put myself in circumstances
that were not healthy for me or for others.
The Lord wanted to share His love with me and then I would be stronger in my foundation in Him. My next steps then could be to take what I learned for myself and then share with others how the Lord could do the same for them.
This is what God has done for me and He wants to do the same for all women.
The Lighthouse is a place for all women to learn about Gods love so our foundations are
solid, and even though we will make mistakes, we will know we can always go to Him and because His love will never fail us He will never leave us or forsake us. This is the foundation
He wants us to all have. God loves us the way He wants us to love each other.
