Bible study is important to develop a deeper understanding of God’s word.  Joining a Bible study allows you to learn about faith and valuable life lessons. It can be held in church or at a Christian community group. This allows you to connect with like-minded peers wanting to learn about faith together. Study groups are not a sermon or lecture it is a group discussing and learning about God’s word.

Why study the Bible?   To learn firsthand who God is from what the Bible tells us. Knowledge is power.  There are believers and critics out in the world saying they are quoting the bible but until you read it yourself will you know if what they say is true.  Then understanding what each verse means will help you grow in your Faith.

Finding a Bible study group can be overwhelming for some people. The first step is finding a group and then join in.  Once you experience a Bible study Group you will find the atmosphere is a safe welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and listen to each other without judgment or criticism.  While each study group may differ in how they approach the study material, the group ensures that you understand the Scripture while being productive and allows everyone to contribute.

Bible study group is a rewarding experience when the group is a mix of new believes along with believers who have studied it for years.  A mixed group helps everyone grow spiritually, by engaging in fresh meaningful perspectives during their conversations.   During Bible study you will be exploring scriptures in great depth and be able to ask questions while learning about the Bible. Some Questions answered during Bible study: What does the scripture mean? What does that word mean?  Why did the author write this verse? How does it fit into my life?

When joining a Bible study, it helps in accountability during our faith journey. By having a set time and place to gather it helps keep us consistent in moving forward in our spiritual growth.  The group will challenge each other as well as celebrate each other’s triumphs. You will also find when you experience challenging times your Bible study group can be an invaluable source of strength and give you some needed comfort.

  • 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
